FKIP – The Community Service Team of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a workshop entitled “Cognitive, Psychomotor, and Affective Evaluation of the System Distance Learning for Elementary School Teachers in Rural Areas” via Zoom Cloud Meeting on Saturday (10/7/2021).

The workshop, which was attended by 57 teachers in Tawangmangu District, was organized by the Linguistics and Applied Literature Research Group (GR) of the PBSI Study Program in collaboration with the Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) of Karanganyar Regency. Drs. Tarsa, M.Pd. as the Head of Disdikbud greets teachers by urging them to continue to work as well as possible in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Tarsa also expressed his gratitude to the UNS FKIP Service Team for always synergizing with the Karanganyar Regency Education and Culture Office to overcome educational problems in the Karanganyar area.

This activity lasted for seven days with material according to the needs of teachers in Tawangmangu who had difficulty in conducting distance learning, including in the implementation of evaluations. Generally, teachers have not carried out evaluations in three domains, namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor completely and have not integrated high order thinking of skills (HOTS) in the implementation of learning evaluations during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Moderated by Winda Dwi Lestari, S.Pd., M.Pd., this workshop presented four speakers. First, Dr. Edy Suryanto, opened the main event by delivering material on the characteristics of distance learning. Second, Dr. Atikah Anindyarini on affective evaluation. Third, Drs. Slamet, M.Pd. who shared knowledge about cognitive evaluation of Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) and HOTS. Fourth, Dr. Sumarwati delivered psychomotor evaluation materials.

After attending the workshop, the teachers practiced making evaluation tools for the affective, cognitive, and psychomotor domains. They were required to make grids, assessment rubrics, questions or assignments, and recapitulation of assessments within two weeks. The device that has been made is then sent and given input by the team and discussed through the Whatsapp group. The latest evidence of performance, all teachers who participated in the workshop met the criteria set by the team. The results before and after the test showed that there was an increase in teacher knowledge about distance learning evaluation.

The team hoped that the award in this event can motivate teachers to always actively participate in further self-development activities. Also, Tarsa hopes that teachers must be active in learning.

“Teachers are not only active in teaching, teachers must always be active in learning so that their knowledge is not outdated, not outdated,” said Tarsa.
