After completing the long process, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 of 1976 dated March 8, 1976. The Decree is about the combination of IKIP Surakarta, STO Surakarta, Academy of Commerce Surakarta (AAN), and the Faculty of Medicine Surakarta becoming Universitas Gabungan Surakarta. After that, it became Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS). IKIP and STO Surakarta merged into the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP). Bachelor’s Degree Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education (BEIL2) is under the auspices of FKIP.

This Indonesian Language and Literature Education Undergraduate Study Program was established in 1979 and ratified by Decree No. 222/DIKTI/KEP/1996 July 11, 1996. From the beginning of the holding of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program FKIP UNS (i.e. 1996) until now (The year 2021), this study program has obtained an Accreditation Certificate from BAN-PT with the status of Superior (A) three times, including (1) in 2010 (January 8, 2010) with SK BAN-PT No. 040/BAN-PT/Ak-XII/S/I/2010, (2) in 2014 (27 September 2014) with SK BAN-PT No. 383/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/IX/2014, and (3) in 2020 (01-04-2020) with SK BAN-PT No. 2055/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/S/IV/2020.

BEIL2 FKIP UNS, through University Policy (UNS) and Faculty (FKIP), this Study Program is registered to participate in the International Accreditation of the Humanities Sciences through the International Accreditation Institute Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA).
